Ceramatec has worked on several Environmental Barrier Coatings (EBC), since 2001. Our coatings are applied using a dip coat method. Various ceramic coatings have been applied on numerous materials (substrates), including:

  • Incoloy 800
  • Waspalloy
  • 441 Alloy
  • SS 304, 316, 410
  • Haynes 160, 188, 230, 441, 556
  • Cast Iron
  • Oxides (MgO, Alumina, Zirconia, etc.)

The CTE of our top coat is comparable to super alloys. Further, they are stable in oxidizing and reducing environments (wet air and Syngas up to 1000+°C). We use nano- and micron particle oxide materials which are either made in-house or purchased commercially from vendors. Dopants can be added to alter functionality. This tailored approach leads to several benefits:

  • Increase transformation toughness
  • Improve adhesion
  • Match coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE)
  • Optimize thermochemical stability
  • Lower sintering temperatures

  • Simple process
  • Low-cost compared to EVD, EV-PVD, Plasma Spray
  • Apply on complex geometries/area hard to access
  • Customizable under/bond coating
  • Able to apply multiple coats
